Shelter

Our shelter model not only seeks to cover the basic needs of the child—though initially are the most urgent—we intend to make them grow, first as people, and then as professionals.

We build a space of tolerance in which caregivers and those sheltered, from different ethnicities, beliefs and traditions, live together in peace and without exclusions. This home is an example of fraternity between diverse peoples and creeds, a sign of the cultural richness of the region and Kenya, and serves as a stimulus and example for the different tribes we serve.

The value of friendship, cooperation and tolerance is instilled in the children. With us they overcome the violence, labor exploitation and frequent abuse of the broken families from which they come. Here they recover their health, learn the importance of studies and see for the first time the possibility of a future different from the marginalization and poverty that they have had to suffer from until now. With the same commitment, we strive for their happiness.

Because the humanitarian work that allows us to have a group of healthy, protected and happy children is not enough, we devote special attention to their studies. Everyone attends school.

Little by little the constant effort has produced results with almost 50 children who have finished their studies with a profession and a degree, and already obtained a job. More than half of them are women, signifying a success in the fight against injustice and the human and social waste that comes with the marginalization of women.
